While there are some tests that are considered in equivalence to TOEFL, the most common and popularly accepted test happens to be IELTS.
Considering the other aspect of your query, the choice of the test is largely an individualistic choice. I would recommend you go through the pattern, understand the syllabus, pattern of the test, scoring and the mode of taking the test. If possible attempt a few practice tests and assess the pros and cons at personal level.
