IIM-A and ISB Hyderabad make it to the Top 20 global B-schools
in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking
for 2012. While Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad
(IIMA) stood tall in at Rank No. 11,
ISB Hyderabad slipped from No. 13 last
year to No. 20 this year.
Speaking on the occasion Sriram Gopalakrishnan, Director -
Marketing and Communications, Indian School of Business
(ISB) said "It is a very proud moment for
us as we have consistently made it to the list of Top 20 B-Schools
for last five years."
FT ranks IIM-A and ISB as Best B-Schools in India
IIM-A Postgraduate Programme in
Management for Executives (PGP-X) bagged
the institute its crowning ranking and ISB has been ranked for its One Year full-time
management programme for working executives in FT MBA rankings 2012.
Released today, the FT B-School rankings 2012 are based
upon the selection criteria demanding the participating schools to
be internationally accredited; and the management programme must
have run for at least four consecutive years. Out of 150 B-Schools
that participated, FT-ranked IIM-Ahmedabad as the top business school in terms of
career progression and ISB bagged 29th
position for it. The FT Business School Ranking 2012 has been based
upon the data compiled from respective schools as well as their
alumni.
"While the rankings are based on multiple parameters, the one
area where we were ranked number one in the whole world was in
career progression of our students. It is because of this that we
have been able to maintain our 11th rank in the global MBA list brought out by FT," said Saral Mukherjee,
chairperson of PGPX at IIM-A on this proud occasion.
Out of 11 B-Schools participating from USA, Stanford Graduate School of Business has come a
long way to reach the No.1 spot from being No. 4 for the past two
years. Harvard business school which ranked No. 3 for the last
three years is now No. 2 and University of Pennsylvania: Wharton
has slipped to No. 3 from the being No. 1 last year. Other schools
that participated and made it to the list include London Business
School, UK (No. 4); Columbia Business School, US (No. 5), Insead,
France/Singapore (No 6), MIT: Sloan, US
(No. 7), IE Business School, Spain (No. 8), Iese Business School,
Spain (No. 9), Hong Kong UST Business
School, China (No. 10).
