This depends a lot on his visa situation. It’ll be a good idea to contact an immigration professional who can indicate whether your son’s student visa allows him to work in the US and under what conditions (unless of course he has American citizenship).
Now other than that, his GPA is fairly high, but there are a lot of other factors involved, such as which school he’s attending, class ranking, past experience, and personal skills and abilities. I would not say it’s impossible to find jobs at the moment, but it is very tough, the financial crisis hit the New York finance industry pretty hard. However, it’s important to remember to stay flexible- jobs that aren’t directly related to finance can still offer a good experience that will give your son potential benefits in the future.

Hi,
His GPA is very much on the higher side but as oLahav pointed other factors like the reputation of his college, his class rank, work experience and personal abilities definitely play a crucial role in securing a job. Also, New York finance industry is hit by the recession thus making it a bit hard to secure jobs in the finance industry these days.
